How to Make Homemade Bath Bombs

Hello guys, and welcome to the beginning of Tiny Adventures with Aishat! 🙂

Today I will be sharing with you guys the recipe on how I make homemade bath bombs. I am totally in love with Lush bath bombs, so I decided to make my own. So, if you are looking to make a more customized bath bomb, here is how.

Step 1: Get all of the ingredients together

In making your bath bombs you will need:

  • Baking Soda (1 Cup)
  • Corn Starch (1/2 Cup)
  • Citric Acid (1/2 Cup)
  • Epsom Salt (1/2 Cup)
  • Water (1.5  Tsp)
  • Essential Oil (1 Tsp)
  • Coconut Oil (1.5 Tsp)
  • Food Colouring (optional)
  • Whisk
  • Bowl
  • Bath Bomb Mold
  • Measuring Cup

Step 2: Mix all the dry ingredients together

Here, I mix the Baking Soda, Cornstarch, Epsom salts, and Citric acid.

Step 3: Mix all the wet ingredients together

Here, I mixed water, coconut oil, essential oil and food colouring.

I used Eucalyptus oil as an essential oil here because it’s very energizing, and coconut oil because it is moisturizing. You can use any type of oil you like here.

Food colouring is optional, but I chose to use green because I wanted to make a colourful bath bomb.

Step 4: Slowly add the mix of the wet ingredient to the dry ingredient bowl. You want to make sure you do this little by little to avoid the citric acid in the dry ingredient from reacting.

Step 5: Put the mix in the bath bomb mold

When putting the mix in the bath bomb mold, you want to ensure that you fill it in such a way that there is a lot in both sides of the bath bomb mold.

Step 5: Put bath bomb mold halves together and tap lightly with a spoon

After putting the mix in the mold, you put the mold together and lightly tap around the bath bomb mold. This will allow the bath bomb to easily be removed from the mold.

Step 5: Carefully open the mold

Here, I carefully take the mix in the mold out.

Step 5: Put bath bombs in a container for drying

You can use different food colouring to achieve the different colours shown above.

Step 6: Let it dry overnight

    1. Hi Marie, it is not hard to find the ingredients. I found many of them at Walmart and Amazon. There were not too expensive, the expensive items were the bath bomb molds and the essential oils. For the bath bomb, if you don’t want to spend too much money, you can use old Christmas ornaments to get the same shape of the bath bomb. For essential oils, they are naturally expensive, you can buy just one instead of a pack to save money.
